New restrictions - December 31st 2020

T4S have had an all round positive year, we have planted hundreds of saplings, seen our group grow and we were lucky enough to squeeze in a planting session with some lovely volunteers.

The new Tier 4 restrictions that came into effect last night will unfortunately impact our January planting sessions. However, the safety of our volunteers, committee members and wider community remains of paramount importance to us.

We will not be going ahead with our January group planting sessions.

The committee are yet to confirm a way forwards, as we still have hundreds of saplings that will need planting this Winter. We may end up repeating what we had to do in the last lockdown, planting safely in pairs as quickly as we can.

The chances of us being able to plan any group activity for the rest of this Winter season are looking slim. However, we are currently looking at other ways we can involve volunteers and we'll keep you posted. Our priority remains the safety of those involved and we will be complying with all local Covid restrictions as we move through the early part of 2021.

The support we have received from the community this year has been amazing. From people emailing with fundraising ideas, offers of tree donations, volunteering, help with the website and social media to each person that came to say a socially distanced 'Hello' whilst we were planting - thank you so much!

We hope 2021 is a brighter year for us all.

Take care,

T4S Team
