Wednesday 9th December - planting at Willowcroft

On a cold but dry(ish) December morning, we were joined by four lovely volunteers to help us extend the existing copse at Willowcroft. We can't express how grateful we are to these people! Not only was it at very short notice, it was also a weekday morning, in the freezing cold...and they did a fantastic job!

Between nine people (in groups and distanced), we planted over 300 saplings - totalling 420 at Willowcroft Park. We planted silver birches, oaks, hazel, rowan, crab apple, blackthorn and dog rose - with the larger growing trees towards the centre of the area. This is to make sure the playing fields, kids and dog walkers still have plenty of space.

It was a great day and we can't wait to see the trees grow and eventually become a part of the existing wood.

Great job, volunteers!

With thanks,

T4S Team
