Saturday 14th November - First planting session...

As our first planting session was due to be held with volunteers at the end of November, our committee had already started receiving deliveries of saplings. Then...lockdown v2.0 was announced.

After a committee discussion, we decided to go ahead with an initial planting session involving just the committee members. We agreed to meet in pairs in line with restrictions and do two hours of planting each at the Gravel Pit site. We worked to extend the existing copse and it went fantastically! Between the six of us, we planted nearly 200 trees (in the rain)! We didn't quite break the world record but we're really pleased.

We had lots of people stop and chat to us from a distance, to ask what we were doing and why. It was lovely talking to people, meeting lots of friendly dogs, getting some fresh air and getting some trees in the ground. Thank you for making the effort to come and talk to us and we hope to see some of you at our next volunteer involved planting session!
