Trees for Spondon is a volunteer based, community group. We are affiliated with Trees for Derby and now have a terms of reference allowing us to become a sub-committee, representing our ward. We hope that this will encourage some of the other 16 wards in Derby city to do the same!
Trees for Spondon are in proud partnership with:
Spondon Community Association (SCA)
Village Improvement Committee (VIC)
The ambition of Trees for Spondon is to plant one tree for every person in Spondon – 12,000 trees.
We were successful in applying for free trees from the Woodland Trust and have now taken delivery of the whips, which are in the process of being planted over the winter.
Over the summer of 2020, we engaged with Spondon residents and asked for their opinions on planting locations and how they felt the project could benefit their local area. The results were overwhelmingly positive and we will use these results to further refine our planting sessions. Thank you to everyone who took the time to get involved!
